Following a 25-year career in Human Resources management in industrial settings, I was excited to make a career change in 2003 to become a Financial Advisor with Waddell & Reed. The position of Financial Advisor has allowed me to build on my personal and professional experience with people, retirement plans, insurance, and planning.
As a resident of Highland, IN, I focus on clients throughout Northwest Indiana and the greater Chicagoland area of Illinois. Specific relationships have resulted in securities licensing for a number of additional states throughout the U.S. I often visit with clients at their homes or businesses, so a trip to our office in Mokena is generally not required.
Preparing clients for retirement is one of my favorite focuses of my practice. This can take a number of different forms, including personal retirement plans such as IRA and Roth IRA and business retirement plans such as SEP, SIMPLE IRA, and 401(k). Financial planning in conjunction with various retirement investments to consider retirement income, insurance needs, longevity, potential long-term care needs, and legacy needs give more depth to many relationships.
Retirement is not the only focus of my practice. Other investments, insurance products, and education funding can help clients pursue other goals along the way. Getting to know my clients, their goals, and what is important to them helps guide us to strategies that are appropriate for their particular situation.
I feel I can be of particular assistance to individuals who may be at a transition point in life, such as a mid-career change, loss of employment, or other personal losses. I have experienced many of these transitions myself, and I have the knowledge and patience to work through a variety of related issues.
In my “free time”, I enjoy being with family which includes my wife, Amy, along with our three sons, their wives, and our four grandchildren. We are very active in our church, Faith Church – Highland. Although not particularly involved with sports, I am an avid walker and a not so avid golfer.
